A walk-in pantry from Lake Sherwood

The two pantry photos on this page are from a Lake Sherwood home, where we lined a walk-in pantry with tall open wood shelving as part of a full kitchen project. You can see how it came together in our Lake Sherwood kitchen story.

Conejo Woodworks designs, builds and installs pantry and laundry cabinetry like this for homeowners across Westlake Village, built to order in our Newbury Park shop a short drive west.

Pantries in Westlake Village homes

Homes from the 1970s and 1980s around Westlake Lake were often built with a single pantry cabinet or a shallow closet. When the kitchen is updated, a tall pantry wall or a reworked walk-in can add a lot of storage. Larger custom homes in the hills often have room for a true walk-in or butler’s pantry, where shelving planned around what you keep makes it easy to see and reach everything.

Laundry rooms

A laundry room works best when everything has a place: detergent and supplies above the machines, a base cabinet around a utility sink, a counter for folding and a tall cabinet for brooms and the ironing board. We build around side-by-side or stacked machines and plan door swings so the room stays easy to move through.

Shelving and cabinets that hold up

Pantry shelves carry heavy cans, jars and appliances, so we plan shelf depths and spans around what you store. Shelves sit on shelf-support pins where you want them adjustable, cabinet boxes are hardwood plywood or melamine panels, and drawers and pull-outs run on Blum soft-close hardware. See what goes into our cabinets.

Designed with the kitchen

When a pantry is part of a kitchen project, we design it with the rest of the cabinetry so the doors, finishes and shelf heights work together. See kitchen cabinets in Westlake Village or home offices in Westlake Village.

Shelving you can see into

Open shelving is the simplest way to make a walk-in pantry easy to use: everything is visible, and nothing gets lost at the back of a deep cabinet. We plan shelf depths for what you store, with shallower shelves at eye level for jars and spices and deeper ones below for appliances and bulk goods, and we can add drawers or a counter run where you want closed storage or a place to set things down.
