Project story · Lake Sherwood
A white oak primary bath in Lake Sherwood
In this Lake Sherwood project, a dated double vanity gave way to grain-matched white oak vanities with full-height towers. It was part of the same home as the kitchen and walk-in closet.

The starting point
Before, the primary bath had a dated white double vanity with a large mirror and wall sconces.
The bath was redesigned during planning, and we redrew the cabinetry to suit the new layout.
What we built
We built two vanity runs, full-height tower cabinets and two white oak medicine cabinets with touch-latch (push-to-open) doors.
The drawer and door fronts are slab, with the white oak grain matched vertically across the fronts.
Materials & hardware
- Fronts
- Plain-sliced white oak slab fronts, vertical grain match; stained, satin lacquer finish
- Cabinet boxes
- 3/4" prefinished maple plywood; frameless, full overlay
- Medicine cabinets
- Two, in plain-sliced white oak, with touch-latch doors
- Hinges & slides
- Blum Inserta 110° soft-close hinges; Blum Tandem soft-close undermount slides
- Drawer boxes
- 1/2" prefinished birch, dovetailed
The stone countertops, sinks, faucets, tile and lighting were by others.
